Caribbean Stud is a poker game that has rules like that of five card stud. Yet Caribbean Stud is not played against other players, but it is played against the house. One cannot deceive or bluff; therefore a lot of players don’t really consider it to be a true game of poker. Now, if they’re playing a hand of seven card stud, they may say they are playing poker, but not in the case of Caribbean Stud.
The rules are quite simple and can vary from casino to casino. Each player places his ante, which is done before the dealer announces “no more bets.” Each player, including the dealer, receives five cards placed face down. When the dealer turns over one of his cards, he will push it toward the players in which the players may then look at their own cards not allowing other players to know what is in their hand. From here, the player can play or fold. If they decide to play, they place their bets in the bet box. The dealer then shows the table his hole cards and the dealer will only play aces, kings, or higher cards. The final step is comparing his cards to the players’ cards, which will reveal the best poker hand. Of course, the best poker hand wins.
So, are you one that believes you have the guts to take on the dealer’s hand? If you are, then go for it. If you win, you will receive even money on your ante and an additional amount based on the dealer’s bet. This can vary. So if you think you have what it takes, be sure to play responsibly with your bankroll and have fun while you’re doing it. Besides, no one has fun when they blow all of their money on one bet.
